Satisfactory Rating From The Department of Transportation Reinforces VTC’s Position As Industry Safety Leader

LONG BEACH, CA – January 30, 2006 – Ventura Transfer Company, a transloader and distributor of products shipped in bulk throughout the United States, today announced that after an extensive audit from the Department of Transportation (DOT), the industry’s highest possible rating for carrier safety has been achieved.

The DOT conducted the comprehensive audit of VTC’s fleet services records the week of January 9. During this period, specific categories, or factors, were judged to determine the company’s compliance with federal safety regulations, including reviewing driver records, drug and alcohol testing programs, accuracy of driver logs, vehicle maintenance and inspection records, hazmat records, and recordable accident rates. Upon completion, the DOT determined that Ventura Transfer Company had achieved a “satisfactory” rating (the highest possible rating) in each of these categories and had statistically exceeded the federal safety standards for every factor. The DOT Investigator was very complimentary of the job VTC is doing in terms of safety and compliance, in particular ativan no prescription needed with hazardous materials handling. When the DOT Investigator was asked to rate VTC, he said that the company received the DOT’s highest rating, which is satisfactory.

“Attaining the DOT’s highest possible rating is a huge accomplishment for us and applauds our entire team who have made significant contributions to make VTC a great place to work,” said Brian Oken, President and CEO of Ventura Transfer Company. “This achievement solidifies our position as a benchmark for safety in the bulk transfer industry and sends a strong message to our clientele that we’re committed to their well-being.”
