Ventura Transfer Company Announces Promotion of Mike Cavanagh to Operations Manager

LONG BEACH, CA – April 21, 2005 – Ventura Transfer Company, a bulk transfer, intermodal company based in Long Beach, California, has announced the promotion of Mike Cavanagh to the position of Operations Manager at the company headquarters. The announcement was made today by Brian Oken, President and CEO of Ventura Transfer Company.

In his new position as Operations Manager, Cavanagh will directly oversee the entire operations of the following departments at VTC: Transportation, Transloading, Washrack, and Maintenance. Cavanagh will report directly to Oken.

Prior to joining VTC, Cavanagh was at HNI Corporation for 18 years where he was Vice President and General Manager. HNI Corporation is the second-largest office furniture manufacturer in North America, and the nation’s leading manufacturer and marketer of gas- and wood-burning fireplaces.
